This piece was designed as an entertainment center for storing a sound system but not any audio visual components. The interior drawers store 12’ of CD’s and the adjustable shelves provide some flexibility for stacking components. Note the machine cut dovetail and exterior drawer slides on the interior drawers. These drawers are used frequently and may carry a fairly heavy load, so the roller slides are a good choice. The upper drawers have old fashioned hand cut dove tails and wood on wood drawer runners. These drawers are used less and comply well with the classic design of the whole cupboard.
One of the interesting parts of this project was choosing a design that went well with the Danish Modern furniture that this customer already had, while incorporating a more classic style that was in keeping with the age and era of the home.

This curio cabinet, which is just 54" tall, 10" deep, and 33" wide stores up to eleven feet of CD's or books and is equally well suited for tea cups or antique planes.
The small size and classic design make it a good fit for a variety of settings.

This mantle with built in book shelves was built into a new arts and crafts style home. We designed and installed the pieces, and the customer finished them. This home has many personal touches, and features lots of restored woodwork that the customer had purchased from old houses that were being torn down. Our job was to integrate the new pieces with the old. People can seldom tell what was new and what was "rescued," and some even doubt that this is a new house at all. Our customer is pleased and so are we.
